History
The Abby is a rock band based on Long Island, NY.

The Abby started out in the mid 80's as a basement band created by high school friends George Santos and Darren Hunold. A chance meeting at the local 7-11 would bring Steve Canino into the group. A drum stick necklace caught Darren's eye and after a quick introduction Steve joined the group as the drummer of Abby Normal.

The band had a short shelf life after writing a few songs and never completing the lineup. Darren left for the navy and George and Steve kept playing on and off casually.
Three years later Darren returned to NY to finish his last two years of service and back together the three friends reformed Abby Normal.

For the next three years after solidifying the line up with Ryan Lee on bass and Butch on drums, Steve took over on vocals. Abby Normal wrote song after song and enjoyed regular gigging in the Long Island club scene. The band went into the studio on a shoe string budget and came away with a five song demo titled Psycologically Inept. The 90's saw the decline of metal and Abby Normal disbanded to start our families.

A personal tragedy in 2019 would bring the three friends back together after 28 years and so began the reformation of Abby Normal. Under the revised name of The Abby, Steve, George, and Darren began learning acoustic versions of songs to play together and quickly discovered the old chemistry was alive and well. Broadening the scope from metal to classic rock and even folk, the Abby began writing songs again. Bringing in Friends Mike DiMichele, Sheri Anderson and Steve's brother Tom Canino The Abby are back and ready to rock.
